The Halo Rover X is an industry leader when it comes to hoverboards. It possesses a lot of power, speed and durability packaged in a crisp body.

Its strength and durability can rival that of any of its competitors in the market. It’s also safe to say that the Halo Rover X has some of the most advanced technology that you can find in a hoverboard.

Most similar gadgets are only limited to pavements – not this one! It is an all-terrain vehicle on two wheels.

Let’s dive into this Halo Rover X hoverboard review.

Performance – Halo Rover X

Top Speed

The Halo Rover X does not disappoint when it comes to speed.

With an impressive top speed of 10 miles per hour, this model’s cruising speed is higher than most of its competitors.

What impresses us the most is that you can cruise at this speed for a fairly long distance.

And you don’t even have to worry about the terrain you are riding on since the speed will remain relatively the same.

Range

The Halo Rover X can travel for a distance of 10 miles when you fully charge the battery. As the average range of travel for most people on hoverboards is about 7 miles, this totally suffices.

Obviously, the range also depends on the rider weight and riding surface. In urban areas, where most riding surfaces are smooth, you can travel the complete 10 miles or maybe even more.

If you are particularly heavy or carrying a lot of baggage, if you are riding in a hilly area or mostly on uneven grounds, the range may be lower than 10 miles.

Hill Climbing

The powerful dual motors of this vehicle will enable you to ascend slopes of up to 20 degrees at a relatively good speed.

Off-Road Performance

The beauty of the Halo Rover X is that it will still guarantee you a smooth and cosy ride even if you go off-road. This is because of its big size, and well-designed, sturdy tires.

As for your off-roading adventures, the range might decline, but only very slightly. This is pretty decent if you ask me, considering how poor some terrains are handled by competitor products.

Riding Modes – Halo Rover X

Like in many other products from other Hoverboard brands, you are presented with the choice of switching between three modes of riding.

If you’re a beginner, you can turn on the beginner mode and start practising slowly.

Once you get the hang of it, you can switch to the normal mode.

Finally, we have the advanced mode for people who are fully experienced and want the thrill of riding on a speedy hoverboard.

Safety – Halo Rover X

A lot of people fear that their hoverboard might catch fire or explode while they are riding thus causing injuries to them.

Halo Rover X Safety Sticker

If you’re a risk conscious person, then this one is the right hoverboard for you. It is UL 2272-certified meaning that it is safe from fire hazards or explosions.

Its battery is also UL 2271 certified making it safe from short circuiting or passing the wrong amount of voltage.

Portability: Weight & Dimensions

Halo Rover X Carrying Case

They say size matters and the bigger, the better. This is more so true when it comes to hoverboards. The Halo Rover X weighs a notable 32 pounds. Its measurements are 9.1 inches by 8.7 inches by 27.5 inches.

I know it can be a bit troublesome to carry it around, but the performance will make it worth it. Especially, when it comes to off-roading activities.

Keep in mind that if the hoverboard is too light, it is probably not powerful enough.

Smartphone Connectivity

A cool feature that you can enjoy on the Halo Rover X is its app which is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones.

If you love to customize your devices, then this feature will suit you. This app will enable you to switch your modes of riding from your smartphone.

It also allows you to map your travels and view the distance you will have covered after. You can also view your battery level from your phone.

For lazy people like me, you can even conveniently switch your hoverboard on and off from your phone.

Water and Dust Resistance

The Halo Rover X is IPX4 waterproof rated. This means light rains or water splashes can’t do any damage to it.

However, this doesn’t mean that you should ride on pools of water or heavy rainfall. The Rover X is only waterproof, it isn’t water resistant.

Weight Capacity

The immense size of this hoverboard plays an important role when it comes to carrying weight. Its maximum weight capacity is 260 pounds.

Most of the heavy riders recommend it because it accommodates them perfectly. Feel free to even carry heavy backpacks along.

Construction – Halo Rover X

Wheels

Halo Rover X Amazing Wheels

I have to admit that the Halo Rover X impressed me with their tires. Their wheels are unmistakably sporty and look very pleasing to the eye.

They are 8.5 inches thick and built from hard rubber. Their strength and rugged texture make navigating bad terrains a walk in the park.

Battery

Batteries are a crucial, but also sensitive part of any hoverboard. You should always strive to purchase boards with batteries that won’t blow up before you start getting your money’s worth.

Halo Rover X Bottom View

The UL 2271 Certified LG Firesafe Lithium-Ion battery on the Halo Rover X is as safe as you can get. The chances of it overheating or short-circuiting are very minimal.

You can fully charge it in 2.5 hours, and use your hoverboard for two hours before it drains out.

Motor

Two 400 watts motors propel this hoverboard forward.

Each wheel contains one motor and a gyroscope which helps to maintain balance.

These powerful motors make the Rover X edge out its competitors when it comes to balancing and performance.

Lights

The LED lights installed will ensure that other motorists can see you from a safe distance. This will reduce the chances of experiencing nasty collisions or severe accidents.

Halo Rover X Headlights

Special feature: Play Music

To improve your riding experience, the Halo Rover X comes with built-in Bluetooth speakers. You can use your smartphone to connect to them and enjoy your favorite tunes while riding.

You can still hear everything else around you, despite the Bluetooth speakers being on because they aren’t too loud.

Special Feature: Ride-assist technology

In addition to the Bluetooth technology, this hoverboard features a one of a kind Ride-Assist technology. This technology helps the hoverboard to always stay upright when it is on.

We all know how challenging it can be to mount a hoverboard for the first time. This feature is very useful for many beginners since it simplifies the mounting process for them.

Halo Rover X: Review Conclusion

Whether you are hoverboarding for the first time or have been hoverboarding for the better part of your life, the Halo Rover X should always be among your top options. It gives you an excellent riding experience on all kinds of undergrounds, gets your far and fast.

Many hoverboard brands do the bare minimum when it comes to making their boards. The Halo Rover X goes above and beyond to ensure that you have a quality product.
